Tiramisu Dip

8 oz mascarpone
1 cup heavy cream
2 tsp instant espresso powder
½ tsp vanilla extract
½ cup powdered sugar
2 tbsp grated semi-sweet chocolate

In a large mixing bowl, stir mascarpone with a rubber spatula until smooth; set aside.

In a separate mixing bowl combine cream and espresso; stir until dissolved.  Stir in vanilla and powdered sugar.  Using an electric mixer, whisk the cream mixture on high until soft peaks form.

Fold whipped cream mixture into mascarpone, one-third at a time, blending well between each addition.  Transfer dip to a serving bowl, and sprinkle with grated chocolate.

Slow Cooker Cider

(from Taste of Home)

2 cinnamon sticks
1 tsp whole cloves
1 tsp whole allspice
2 quarts apple cider
½ cup brown sugar
1 orange sliced

Place the cinnamon, cloves and allspice in a double thickness of cheesecloth; bring up corners of cloth and tie with a string to form a bag.

Place cider and brown sugar in a 3 qt slow cooker; stir until sugar dissolves.  Add spice bag.  Place oranges on top.  Cover and cook on low for 2-3 hours or until heated through.  Discard spice bag.
